Mokra Gora
Famous Tarabica prophets foretold a century ago: `Many years will have passed untill people recall the iron road and rebuild it, only along this road leading to Visegrad people will not travel for their needs and business, but for fun, relaxation and pleasure`. Here we speak about the narrow gauge railway route, steam locomotive, that across Sargan mountain bend, between Tara and Zlatibor, connected Visegrad and Uzice, famous as “Sargan eight“. The railway was opened to traffic in 1925, so to be unreasonably abolished in 1974. In March 1999, reconstruction started, and in mid November rails were mounted on the part of the railway from the station Sargan Vitas to Mokra Gora. At that point the steam locomotive and famous “Cira“train overcome 300 meters height, at 3.5 kilometers long route. The railroad shaped number eight passes through the impresive landscapes. It is 13.5 kilometers long, with about 20 tunnels, 10 bridges and many viaducts. There are a few curable water springs, among which Bela Voda or Ocna Voda stands out, famous for its high PH value – 11,5.
A `must visit` place attracting a great deal of visitors is Drvengrad Mecavnik, the ethnic village built by our famous film director Emir Kusturica.
